Dug out my copy of Andrew
Yule’s “True Story”. I remember reading it in
1987 and my over-riding thought was Yule was subjective and didn’t really
like Golan-Globus for some reason (not that a serious non-fiction author
should be bothered either way. He speaks about G-G as if they’re an enemy.
Maybe they were?). By the end of the book (blur now but I’m going to re-read
it soon) I had no respect for Yule as an author at all as it seemed to be a
total attack against the film-makers. Yule wrote lots of other books so maybe
they’re all the same nasty tone? With the Cannon book he does seem to blame
Golan-Globus for everything apart from WWII. I intend to do some excerpts
from this book when time allows. I’m looking for a picture of
Andrew Yule too for this page so if you can help get in touch. Thanks. |
